Custom Software Development
Applications built around the way your business actually runs, not around the limits of an off-the-shelf product.
DetailsSoftware consulting
Westedge Technical Services is a software consulting firm. We build the custom applications, mobile apps and CRM, ATS and VMS platforms that businesses run on, and we build them to be understood by whoever comes next.
How we work
The situation
Most of the companies that call us are not starting from zero. They have systems that work, mostly, held together by exports, macros and one person who knows how it all fits.
That arrangement holds until it does not: the person leaves, the volume doubles, the vendor sunsets the platform, or a customer asks for something the software simply cannot do. Our job is to replace that fragility with something deliberate, and to do it without stopping the business while we work.
Common starting points
What we do
Most engagements touch more than one of these. You get one team across all of them rather than a handoff between specialists who have never met.
Applications built around the way your business actually runs, not around the limits of an off-the-shelf product.
DetailsRecruiting, sales and vendor platforms shaped to your desk process instead of a vendor roadmap you do not control.
DetailsNative and cross-platform apps for the people doing the work away from a desk.
DetailsFast, accessible, mobile-ready web software that works on the first try for the people who use it all day.
DetailsGetting your systems to agree with each other, reliably, without a person re-keying data in between.
DetailsOne version of the numbers, refreshed on a schedule, that everyone in the room can trust.
DetailsDeployments that are boring on purpose: repeatable, reversible and monitored.
DetailsMoving critical systems forward without the big-bang rewrite that never lands.
DetailsThe process
The same four stages on every engagement, whether it is a two-week assessment or a nine-month build.
We start by watching the work happen. Who touches this process, what breaks, what that spreadsheet on the side is really for. Requirements written without that context are guesses.
You get a written plan: what we will build, what we will not, what it costs, and what has to be true for the estimate to hold. Surprises get raised before the work starts, not in the invoice.
Short increments with working software at the end of each one. You review real screens against real data instead of approving a document and hoping.
Source code, documentation, credentials and a walkthrough for whoever maintains it next. If that is us, good. If it is your team, the handoff still happens.
Ways to work together
A short, fixed-fee engagement to answer a specific question: is this architecture going to hold, what will the migration really cost, why is this application slow. You get a written recommendation you can act on with or without us.
We scope the work, agree on what done looks like, and deliver it in increments you can see and use along the way. Fixed-fee where the scope is clear, time and materials where discovery is part of the job.
Senior engineers embedded in your team, working in your repositories, your standups and your process. Useful when you have the roadmap and the domain knowledge but not enough hands.
Ongoing care for software we built or inherited: monitoring, patching, small enhancements and a defined response time when something breaks at 6am.
Technology
We work across the stacks below, and we pick based on what your team can maintain, what your infrastructure already supports, and what the problem actually needs.
If the right answer is a boring, well-supported technology your team already knows, that is the answer we will give you. Novelty is a cost, and you are the one who pays it after we leave.
Questions
With a call. Thirty minutes is normally enough for us to understand the problem and tell you whether we are the right fit. If there is a project there, the next step is a short paid discovery that produces a written scope and a real number.
Both. Fixed-fee when the scope is well understood and stable, which is fairer to you. Time and materials when discovery is genuinely part of the work, with a not-to-exceed ceiling and weekly reporting so the budget never surprises you.
You do, on delivery. It lives in your repository, under your accounts, with your credentials. We use open-source and commercially licensed components where it makes sense, and every license is disclosed in writing before it goes in.
Yes, and often that is the better arrangement. We work in your repositories, follow your conventions and join your standups. The goal is to leave your team stronger than we found it, not to build a dependency.
Next step
A thirty-minute call is usually enough to tell you whether we can help, what it would take, and roughly what it would cost. No deck, no discovery fee to have the conversation.
