About us

A consulting firm that would rather be understood than impressive.

Westedge Technical Services, Inc. is a software consulting firm. We build systems for businesses whose problems are specific enough that generic software stopped being the answer a while ago.

Who we are

Engineers who have had to live with their own decisions

Everyone here has been on the other side of a handoff: inheriting a system, reading someone else's shortcuts at 2am, explaining to a business owner why the thing they paid for cannot do the one thing they need.

That experience shapes how we work more than any methodology does. We write code for the person who reads it next. We say what something will cost before it is too late to say no. And we treat documentation as part of the deliverable rather than a thing that happens if the budget holds.

We are deliberately not a large firm. Engagements are staffed with the senior people you meet in the first call, which means fewer projects at a time and more attention on each one.

What we believe

Four commitments we will hold you to

These are not values on a wall. They are the things you should call us out on if we drift from them.

Plain language, always

Technical decisions get explained in terms of cost, risk and time. If an answer only makes sense to an engineer, it is not finished.

You own everything

Source code, infrastructure accounts, domains, data. No proprietary runtime you cannot leave, and no leverage held back for renewal time.

Built to be maintained

We write the boring, readable version. The next engineer to open the file is the real user of a codebase, and that engineer may not be us.

Scope honestly

We would rather lose the work than win it on an estimate we do not believe. When something turns out harder than quoted, you hear it early.

How we work

Four stages, and you can see into all of them

You will always know what stage the work is in, what is blocking it, and what the next reviewable thing is. Status is a standing habit here, not something you have to chase.

01

Understand

We start by watching the work happen. Who touches this process, what breaks, what that spreadsheet on the side is really for. Requirements written without that context are guesses.

02

Scope

You get a written plan: what we will build, what we will not, what it costs, and what has to be true for the estimate to hold. Surprises get raised before the work starts, not in the invoice.

03

Build

Short increments with working software at the end of each one. You review real screens against real data instead of approving a document and hoping.

04

Hand Off

Source code, documentation, credentials and a walkthrough for whoever maintains it next. If that is us, good. If it is your team, the handoff still happens.

What that looks like week to week

A short written update every week: what shipped, what is next, what changed about the estimate. A working environment you can click through at any time. A single named engineer who owns your account and answers the phone.

When something goes sideways, and on a long enough project something always does, you hear it from us in the same week it happens, along with the options and what each one costs.

  • Weekly written status, not a status meeting.
  • A staging environment you can use whenever you want.
  • Budget burn reported against the estimate, every week.
  • Change requests priced before work starts, in writing.
  • One named point of contact for the whole engagement.

Where we fit

Industries whose complexity we already speak

We are not sector-exclusive, but there are domains where the vocabulary, the compliance shape and the failure modes are already familiar to us.

If your industry is not on this list, that is not a problem. It just means the discovery phase spends more of its time with your people and less with your data model, which is usually time well spent anyway.

Next step

Tell us what is not working.

A thirty-minute call is usually enough to tell you whether we can help, what it would take, and roughly what it would cost. No deck, no discovery fee to have the conversation.
